Dirk Schuebel’s mandate ends on August 31

The mandate of ES Dirk Schuebel, EU Ambassador in the Republic of Moldova, Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova, ends on August 31, 2013. On this occasion, the diplomat thanked the Moldovan press for the continuous interest it has showed for the events, which have marked the cooperation between the EU and the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports, quoting a press release from the Delegation.

“The objective and professional approach toward all the aspects of the EU – RM relation has first of all contributed to the correct information of the citizens of the country on the dynamics of the relationship between EU and the Republic of Moldova, and the cooperation priorities. The press from the Republic of Moldova has significantly progressed during the past few years and I am convinced that it will stay one of the main stakeholders in informing society and in creating the public opinion of the country,” said Dirk Schuebel.

Dirk Schuebel took up his duties in November 2009. The new Ambassador, Mr Pirkka Tapiola, who was nominated to this post in April 2013, will start his mandate in September 2013.
