Directors and mayors will decide learning method

The directors of education institutions and mayors of localities will decide the way in which the education process will be conducted in kindergartens and schools. The decision was taken by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission after the proposal to halt the education process wasn’t supported, IPN reports.

“We pleaded for a general halt in the education process, but the arguments provided by the Ministry of Education and epidemiologists didn’t garner the necessary number of votes for interrupting the education process. Consequently, the decision reached consensually is to delegate the local public authorities of the first and second levels, together with the directors of schools and kindergartens, to decide how to act depending on the local epidemiological situation,” acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi stated in a press briefing.

According to him, even if practically all the districts are under red alert, there are localities where the epidemiological situation is less serious.

Aureliu Ciocoi noted the directors and mayors will decide whether to stop the education process or not also in the case of first-fourth graders.
