Director of CFM to be questioned by parliamentary commission next week

The director of the state-run enterprise “Moldova’s Railways” (CFM) Adrian Onceanu next week will be questioned by the parliamentary commission that was constituted to analyze the economic-financial situation of the enterprise. The steps that need to be taken to solve the problems will be decided later, as the commission decided in a meeting that involved representatives of salary earners of the CFM, IPN reports, quoting the Parliament’s press service.

In the discussions, the employees of the CFM asked the authorities to take measures to solve the financial crisis that has been experienced by the enterprise for several months. The payment of the overdue salaries for four months, which total over 100 million lei, was set as a priority. The representatives of salary earners also asked for compensations for the losses sustained because of the late payment of salaries in 2015-2021.

The Trade Union Federation of Railway Workers on March 4 mounted a protest in front of the Parliament Building and the Presidential Palace, demanding that the salary arrears since November 2020 be cleared, the company’s managers be dismissed and the trade union dues be transferred to the accounts of trade unions. The increasing of salaries was also among the demands.
