Director and two inferiors accused of 10bn lei swindle
The head of Rom-Prim Company and two inferiors have been arrested for 15 days on suspicion they swindled about 10 billion lei out of persons, promising they will build apartment buildings at reasonable prices, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Anticorruption Center.
The Center launched investigations after receiving complaints from persons, who invested tens of million lei in the construction of apartments, but cannot move to them as they are not yet ready.
At the request of the prosecutor, the Buiucani Court ordered releasing one of the suspects as he suffers from a serious disease that cannot be treated in detention.
If the two are found guilty, they would serve up to 15 years in jail for swindle, plus three to seven years for abuse of authority.
