“The creation of the Diplomatic Institute will enable us to provide the diplomatic service and other authorities of the central public administration with highly-qualified staff. Also, new opportunities will appear for representing the Republic of Moldova at specialized international forums,” Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tudor Ulianovschi stated in connection with the approval of the Government decision concerning the foundation of the Diplomatic Institute.
Tudor Ulianovschi said the Diplomatic Institute will provide training courses for Moldovan and foreign diplomats, for government officials and experts of NGOs and the private sector.
“The courses will meet all the requirements of a modern diplomatic service and will use the good practices of diplomats from all over the world. The training program will focus on interactive and practical sessions and will have diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and from abroad, university professors and qualified experts as trainers, offering a wide range of opinions and approaches,” stated the official.
The training programs will include courses in key areas, such as diplomatic and consular law, theory and practice of international relations, international and European law, European integration, economic diplomacy and the business environment, digital diplomacy and studying of foreign languages.
The duties and functional structure of the Diplomatic Institute will be specified in regulations that will be approved by the Cabinet. The Institute will be managed by a director who will be appointed and dismissed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
