A new body will be set up under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration – the Diplomatic Institute. This will provide training courses for Moldovan and foreign diplomats, governmental officials, experts from the NGO and private sectors. This is provided in a draft decision presented by the Ministry, IPN reports.
The Diplomatic Institute will not form part of the national education system and will not abide by the current legal provisions on the accreditation and licensing of education and science and innovation institutions. This will be managed by a director who will be appointed and dismissed by the minister of foreign affairs.
The new body will be financed with the budget allocations intended for the Ministry and with sponsorships, donations, foreign assistance, etc. The Institute’s personnel will consist of five units, including the director. At the first stage, the Ministry will offer the Institute one of the available areas in its head office located on 31 August 1989 St. About 500,000 lei in salaries a year will be spent from the budget at the initial stage.
