Shigeki Sumi, who is completing his duties as the Ambassador of Japan in Moldova, will remain ambassador of qualitative and competitive Moldovan products. In a meeting with President Nicolae Timofti, the ambassador said he will use all the possibilities of promoting the Moldovan products after the completion of his mission, IPN reports.

In a meeting with the Japanese diplomat, the President welcomed the development of the bilateral relations during the last few years. Nicolae Timofti reiterated the interest in supporting the export of Moldovan wines to Japan, including in promoting the country brand “Wine of Moldova”.

In sign of gratitude for the substantial contribution to developing and strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation between Moldova and Japan, Nicolae Timofti awarded Shigeki Sumi the Order of Honor.

In the meeting, the interlocutors welcomed the opening of embassies in Chisinau and Tokyo, whose inauguration will take place soon.
