The migrants who go to work in Russia are exempted from taking the Russian language test if they have diplomas obtained in the Soviet area before 1991. But the history and Russian legislation tests remain mandatory. Such details were provided in a video conference that involved representatives of the Federal Migration Service of Russia on February 13, IPN reports.
Boris Vorobiov, a representative of the Federal Migration Service, said that since January 1, 2015, the migrants who intend to go to Russia are obliged to take an exam that consists of three elements – the Russian language, the Russian history and the Russian legislation. The cost of the exam is 4,900 rubles. If the migrant possesses an education certificate obtained in the Soviet area before 1991 or a diploma obtained in Russia, the first component is excluded, while the migrant is paid back 1,900 rubles.
Asked to explain why an increasing number of Moldovans are being banned from entering Russia, the Service’s representatives said all the decisions are taken in accordance with the law, while the motivation differs from case to case. Meeting with the colleagues from Moldova are called regularly to discuss the given issue.
The video conference was organized with the support of the World Bank project MIRPAL.
