The Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) elected a new president in its congress. This is former MP Dinu Plîngău, who held the post of the party’s president on an interim basis until now, IPN reports.

In the event, the former leader of PPPDA Andrei Năstase said that during the over ten years of civic and political activity that he unconditionally devoted to Moldova, he spoke for multiple times to tens and hundreds of thousands of people. “Since February 5, 2017, when the second extraordinary congress of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” was held, years full of remarkable events, assiduous, unprecedented work to free the Republic of Moldova from oligarchs’ captivity have passed. I urge you to do justice where you work, where you can take important decisions for our communities, for each person apart,” stated Andrei Năstase.

After the vote was held, Dinu Plîngău said that within two months there will be created an alternative to the current Government. “I thank all my mates for this democratic process. I’m sure that the Dignity and Truth Platform will revive and will soon become the political alterative expected in society. Being elected, by secret vote, the president of the best party is not a victory, but a responsibility and also an honor. What is important now for us is the team that will form a real Shadow Cabinet that will support the pro-European course of the Republic of Moldova,” Dinu Plîngău stated after he was elected president of the party.

In July 2021, the presidents and vice presidents of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” tendered their resignation in a meeting of the National Political Bureau.
