Stepan Dimitrov achieved a new result. After becoming European champion among seniors in May, the Moldovan wrestler now won silver at the European U-21 Taekwondo Championships that closed in Innsbruck, Austria, IPN reports.

Dimitrov competed in the 54 kg class and lost the final to Spanish wrestler Jesus Tortosa Cabrera by 9-10. Before qualifying for the final, the Moldovan athlete beat the representatives of Slovakia, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. The competition in Austria involved athletes from 44 countries.

Stepan Dimitrov is the only Moldovan athlete who won the title of European champion. The athlete from Chisinau won gold in Baku this May.
