The delay in paying salaries for November to municipal education system employees is due to faults that appeared in the Information Public Finance Management System, said mayor general Ion Ceban. He wrote a letter to the Ministry of Finance, requesting it to take measures for the payment of salaries to become possible the next few days. For its part, the Ministry of Finance said the mistakes were made by the Chisinau City Hall, IPN reports.

On Wednesday afternoon, the mayor general issued a letter in which he referred to the problems detected in the Information Public Finance Management System, which hinder the payment of salaries for November to the employees of the municipal education system.

The letter says that the rectification of the municipal budget could not be finalized during December 8-14. On December 8, the public institution “Center of Information Technology in Finance” was asked to offer assistance, but the problem hasn’t been solved yet.

The Ministry of Finance came with an official reaction, saying that the budget administrator, which is the Chisinau City Hall, made mistakes when importing data into the information systems. The delay in paying salaries was caused by the late introduction by the municipality of the provisions of Government Decision No. 777 of November 11, 2022 into the information systems.

“These changes could have been made since November 15, but the municipality initiated the procedure for introducing the data into the information systems on December 7 this year only,” the institution noted in a press release.
