Diesel prices have reached the lowest level of this year, as low as last time seen in July of last year, according to the National Energy Regulatory Agency. Meanwhile, gasoline prices have also been ticking lower lately, getting closer and closer to this year’s low.
In the last six weeks of constant price declines, standard diesel dropped in price by 1.64 lei/liter or 7.5%, and COR 95 gasoline by 1.20 lei/liter or 4.5%. This is due to both lower Platts quotes and a stronger leu against the US dollar.
“It is also worth noting that during this week there is a sharp upward trend in both Brent crude oil stock quotes and Platts quotes for petroleum products, a fact that may influence the current price trend”, added ANRE.
For the next three days, August 17-19, ANRE capped the price of 95-octane gasoline at 24.09 lei (-0.04 leu) and standard diesel at 20.33 lei (-0.02 leu).
