Dialogue between protesters and rulers is between inevitable and cheating, experts

While some experts consider that the dialogue between the government and the protesters is inevitable, the protest organizers are skeptical that this dialogue will end successfully. Contradictory statements on the issue were made in the talk show “Politics” on TV7 channel, IPN reports.

Political commentator Vitali Andrievschi called on the sides to sit at the negotiating table as soon as possible. “Those of the Platform “Dignity and Truth”, the government and the opposition of the left should come together for discussions as quickly as possible. They should not impose ultimatums, but should put forward concrete demands. We could have early legislative elections, but it’s not known who will come to power,” he stated.

Political commentator Roman Mihaes also considers that protesters’ leaders should accept the dialogue and should not make use of the people in their protests. “The Nistru War veterans were used and incited. Something like this is inadmissible. A compromise is needed, but the veterans should not be used,” he said.

Igor Botan, one of the founding leaders of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth”, considers the dialogue is a good initiative, but he does not believe in its success. “The people have protested for half a year, but those who are in power took no attitude. We put forward demands and wrote resolutions, but all in vain,” he stated.

Alexandru Slusari, another leader of the Platform, considers the invitation to dialog could be a new trick on the part of the government. “We are tired of the lies of our rulers. They must prove that they are honest. The heads of the law enforcement bodies should resign and we will then see,” he said.
