Chisinau’s Directorate General of Education (DGEST) will install disabled access ramps at four municipal institutions after winning a grant from the Embassy of the Czech Republic.

DGEST says that many institutions built in the past face a shortage of wheelchair ramps, which makes access difficult for students and teachers with special locomotor needs. The installation of ramps will facilitate access and improve the educational conditions for all children and teachers in these institutions.

Disabled access ramps will be installed at the extracurricular activity center Curcubeu, Kindergarten 8 in Centru sector, Kidergarten112 in Botanica sector, and Kindergarten 78 in Centru sector.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic offered 399,816 lei for this initiative.
