The two minors from Tarigrad village of Drochia district, who lost their lives in a grenade explosion, found the bomb in the grandparents’ house, where the tragedy occurred. When the grenade exploded, there were two more minors there. These are the brothers of one of the teens who died and they were unhurt.

Press office of the Drochia Police Inspectorate Olga Chistol has told IPN that according to the preliminary reports, the grandmother bought the house a month ago and found the grenade in a box under the bed, but ignored the find.  While on a visit to the grandmother, the grandchildren found the grenade. One of the children took it and gave it to his cousin, who pulled the pin.

The bomb squad that examined the place found no other suspect devices. The case is investigated based on two articles – killing out of imprudence and illegal keeping of arms and ammunitions.

The killed teens were aged 14 and 15. It was reported that the find was an F1 grenade.
