Details about fourth meeting of Moldova Support Platform

Representatives of over 30 countries and international organizations will take part in the fourth meeting of the Moldova Support Platform that will take place in Chisinau on October 17. In the event, there will be analyzed the assistance needs of Moldova and the creation of two funds – one for the development of infrastructure and another one for ensuring energy independence. Details to this effect were provided by Prime Minister Dorin Recean in a press briefing, IPN reports.

“This is a platform initiated by Romania, France, and Germany. It was initiated by our friends to bring together all the states from the Europeans Union and states from outside it, which are the friends of the Republic of Moldova and felt they want to support us in the crisis generated by Russia’s war against Ukraine,” stated the official.

According to Premier Recean, in the previous meetings held in Berlin, Bucharest and Paris, the Republic of Moldova received support to cover citizens’ costs for public utilities, for infrastructure projects and in the form of diesel fuel for farmers.

“This year the Government will discuss, together with representatives of the 30 countries and international organizations, the assistance needed to cover the budget costs related to salaries, pensions and others, to further support the venerable groups of society. We will also consider creating two development funds for the Republic of Moldova so that we could recover the losses associated with the economic decline and, in general, for setting off on a path of development and economic growth,” said Dorin Recean.
