The woman who was injured in the blast in Sângerei town lost her husband in the explosion, The man was found by rescuers under the debris. A relative of her was also hospitalized together with her. Only the entrance and an annex remained of the woman’s house.
Contacted by IPN for details, deputy mayor of the town Andrei Cucoș said the house wasn’t connected to the centralized natural gas distribution network. They suspect that the blast was caused by a gas cylinder, but the investigation goes on.
A meeting will be convened today to analyze the situation and to decide where the woman will be accommodated after she is discharged from the hospital, if her relatives cannot house her.
The explosion was reported to the 112 Service at about 5pm ion January 26. The rescuers and firefighters managed to save a woman aged 61 and a man aged 68, who were taken to the hospital in a conscious state. The body of a 63-year-old man, who went missing after the blast, was found as a result of the rescue operation.
The neighboring houses weren’t damaged in the blast.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, the first examinations at the scene showed the explosion could have been caused by an accumulation of natural gases. The rescuers found three gas cylinders at the scene. There was also a gas installation in the house. The examinations continue.
