U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Dereck J. Hogan completed his duties in the Republic of Moldova. “Thank you, Moldova, for this wonderful opportunity. You’ve made a tremendous impact on my life, and you will remain in my heart,” the ambassador said in his farewell message.
“It is a special privilege to serve as the ambassador of the United States in the Republic of Moldova. I was honored to represent the United States in front of the people of the Republic of Moldova during the past three years, which is a remarkable and successful period of my life,” noted Dereck J. Hogan.
He said that during his tenure, he aimed to travel beyond Chisinau and to see more of what is done in Moldova, which is a unique, diverse and promising country.
In the period, the U.S. Embassy cooperated closely with agriculture and the business community of the Republic of Moldova so as to improve the economic opportunities. It also cooperated with the public health authorities in the fight against the global COVID-19 pandemic and with the Government of the Republic of Moldova in the implementation of internal and international initiatives.
“I’m leaving knowing that our country is powerful and growing. We cooperated with so many devoted officials who have a clear view on Moldova’s future and I’m sure that they will be able to deal with any challenge,” stated the diplomat.
Dereck J. Hogan thanked all those who o showed hospitality, amiability and generosity during his stay here and said that he is sure of the Moldovans’ capacity to continue to innovate and advance.
The diplomat thanked his team that was near him. “I know that this team of the embassy will continue to strengthen the relations between us.”
Dereck J. Hogan was named Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to the Republic of Moldova in 2018, by a decree signed by Donald Trump.
Recently, the President of the U.S. Joe Biden nominated diplomat Kent Doyle Logsdon as Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova.
