Deputy Premier Popșoi meets with counterparts from Egypt, Slovakia

While in Turkey, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, has taken part in the third edition of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. On the sidelines of the event, the Moldovan official had bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Egypt and Slovakia, IPN reports.

With Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt Sameh Hassan Shoukry, Mihai Popșoi conferred on the progress made in the Moldovan-Egyptian cooperation relations. “I reiterated our country’s interest in opening an embassy in Cairo. I thanked the Egyptian side for the assistance provided in the evacuation of the Republic of Moldova’s citizens from the Gaza Strip,” said the Moldovan official.



The Deputy Prime Minister discussed the advancement of bilateral cooperation and the assistance provided to Moldova in the process of joining the European Union with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Juraj Blanár.

“I accepted the invitation to pay a working visit to Slovakia in the immediate period. I noted that the development assistance provided through SlovakAid for energy projects produces tangible results for the citizens of our country,” stated Mihai Popșoi.

On the second day of the Forum, the Moldovan official will have discussions with the foreign ministers of Hungary, Montenegro, Serbia, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan.

The third edition of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum on March 1-3 brought together heads of state and government, ministers and experts and centers on topical regional and international agenda issues.
