Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gerasimov will be paying a working visit to Brussels during February 21-22, IPN reports.

While in Brussels, Deputy Premier Gerasimov will meet with Oliver Varhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, and Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations.

The Moldovan official will be accompanied by colleagues from the Ministry of Justice and other relevant institutions responsible for analyzing the EU legislation in the field of justice and fundamental rights.

At the beginning of February, Moldova entered the first stage of technical work on its accession to the EU. At this stage, the legislation of the Republic of Moldova will be compared with that of the EU, differences will be identified and an assessment of the necessary adjustments to the national legislation will be carried out.
