Deputy PM Valeriu Lazar will head National Council for Regional Development Coordination
The Government named the new members of the National Council for Regional Development Coordination, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar will act as chairman of the Council, while Minister of Construction and Regional Development Marcel Raducan as vice chairman.
The Council includes the ministers of finance, the environment, agriculture and food industry, transport and road infrastructure and the heads of the districts of Briceni, Ialoveni and Cantemir, who head the Regional Development Councils “Nord”, “Centru” and “Sud”. The representatives of the business environment Leonid Babii, director of SA Barza Alba, Pavel Axenti, director of SA Codreanca, and Oleg Pricopciuc, director of the commercial organization Turnul Vechi, will also work on the Council.
The National Council for Regional Development Coordination will promote and coordinate the regional development objectives and the instruments for achieving them at the national level. It will also review and update the documents on long-term inter-sector development planning based on balanced regional development and Moldova's inclusion in the international structural assistance schemes, mainly of the EU.
