Deputy Health Minister Gheorghe Turcanu was suspended from post by a Government decision adopted on February 6, Info-Prim Neo reports. The minister will be suspended until February 14, when the commission of inquiry into the December 23 hunting incident in the Domneasca Forest completes its task. After the February 2 hearing, Gheorghe Turcanu said that he found out about the incident from the then prosecutor general Valeriu Zubco, who asked that a patient be hospitalized in the national institutions. After he informed himself about this case, he established that the patient cannot be transported. He could be only operated on the spot. The deputy minister also said that he didn’t know the circumstances in which the young man was wounded and thus didn’t consider it necessary to inform Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi about the incident. On February 5, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said Deputy Health Minister Gheorghe Turcanu and the director of IS “Registru” Sergiu Railean should suspend themselves from posts so as not to affect the investigation.
