Deputy Mayor Nistor Grozavu returned to the Chisinau City Hall on May 31. No official announcement as to whether he agrees to take up the duties of mayor general on an interim basis or not has been yet made.

Nistor Grozavu’s cell phone is inaccessible, but the press officer of the City Hall Vadim Branzaniuc confirmed for IPN that the deputy mayor resumed work.

Nistor Grozavu was freed from house arrest and will be investigated under judicial control in the case of pay parking lots. The Chisinau Legal Assistance Division specified the deputy mayor can take over as mayor general on an interim basis.

The Chisinau City Hall remained without administration following arrests in the case of pay parking lots that were to be built in the capital city. Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca is still under house arrest.
