MP Vitalia Pavlicenco Thursday accused the Head of Parliament Marian Lupu of promoting his own interests by hastening the designation of the composition of the Administration Board of the National Commission on Financial Market. Pavlicenco said that one of the candidates for this post – Mihai Ciobanu – is Lupu’s godfather. The Speaker neither confirmed nor denied Pavlicenco’s statements. Marian Lupu presented the respective project to the Parliament on 17 July. It was included in the supplement to the agenda of the plenary meeting set for 20 July. A number of Opposition deputies suggested postponing the examination of the project until next week so as to get acquainted with the candidates, but MP Valeriu Cosarciuc said that the largest part of the projects included in the agenda of the meetings that will be held by the end of the session are not of major importance and could be replaced by other key issues, especially matters related to the situation in agriculture. The communist MPs rejected the proposals of the Opposition.
