More than 8,300 former political prisoners and deportees will receive a lump sum of 500 lei from the Government in July. A sum of 4.15 million lei was allocated for the purpose, IPN reports.

The first deportation wave in Moldova took place on the night of June 13, 72 years ago. There were deported 3,470 families. The event will be commemorated with laying of flowers at the commemorative plaque set up in the square of the Railway Terminal in Chisinau.
