Deportation victims to receive one-time material aid

Victims of deportation and former political prisoners will receive one-time material aid of 500 lei up to July 6, when the biggest Stalinist wave of deportations took place, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family, about 4.5 million lei have been allotted from the State Budget for these payments. The money will be distributed through local funds of social support and will be handed based on rehabilitation certificates.
The first wave of deportations took place on June 12-13, 1941, the second one on June 6-7, 1949, and the third one on March 31-April 1, 1951.
