The Department for Romanians Abroad launched the financing season for 2011. The funding that can be offered for a project ranges from RON 45,000 to 90,000, Info-Prim Neo reports. The maximum finance requested for a project must not exceed the sums specified for each program. The first is a cultural one – Constantin Brancusi (max. RON 45,000). The program includes the opening and maintenance of Romanian libraries, museums, memorial houses and boards, historical and art monuments abroad, the organization of art workshops in Romania and abroad, involving renowned artists, the organization of contests and awarding Romanian artists abroad, as well as promoting winners’ works. The second program is an educational one – Nicolae Iorga (max. RON 45,000). It includes the organization of Romanian language, culture and civilization courses in universities and schools from countries with major Romanian communities. The project will support the opening of new schools or classes, the building or repair and equipment of schools or kindergartens for Romanian children abroad. They will also receive scholarships to learn in Romania or abroad. The third program (max. RON 90,000), Mihai Eminescu, is meant to support Romanian mass media in Romanian communities abroad. It includes the organization of program and organizational management trainings for journalists, encouraging the ethnic media on the web, supporting local radio and TV channels for Romanians abroad. The last program (max. RON 90,000), Andrei Saguna, is focused on spirituality and tradition. It includes the building, repair or maintenance of Romanian churches in regions with major communities of Romanian believers. Besides, churches will receive books and religious equipment and clothing. The program will also fund charity actions initiated either by churches or by Romanian associations abroad.
