Department for Court Bailiffs to be established by year-end
The Government will allocate from its reserve fund 78,600 lei to establish the Department for Court Bailiffs until the end of this year, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Justice Minister Alexandru Tanase, the establishment of the Department is an important step in the context of the reform of the system of executing court orders through the introduction of private bailiffs. Even though as a result of this reform the court bailiffs will be independent from the state, they will be appointed by the government.
“The court bailiffs have been invested with public authority and therefore there is a necessity for government supervision. Because, in the end, it is the government which is responsible for the execution or non-execution of the court rulings”, said the minister.
The Department will inspect private bailiffs once in two years and upon the expiry of the first term in office in the case of the freshly-appointed bailiffs.
The Department will have a staff of five. It will replace the old Justice Ministry's Execution Department.
