During the current state of emergency, deodorized cooking oils will be considered socially important products, meaning their price will be regulated. At the same time, starting with May 19, deductions on VAT on the export and re-export of deodorized sunflower oil, including from the Free Economic Zone and the Giurgiulesti Free International Port, will not be possible. This was decided by the Commission for Emergencies on Wednesday.
Expired biometric passports, or which are due to expire on December 31, 2022, are automatically extended until June 30, 2023. Within ten days, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration must inform all states and specialized international organizations about this measure through diplomatic channels. The Public Service Agency shall publish additional information for citizens planning to travel with passports whose validity has been extended by this decision.
Another decision waives the 90/180 days rule for the Ukrainian citizens and their family members who entered Moldova after the introduction of the state of emergency or who were already staying legally here at the time of its introduction. Also, Ukrainians seeking work permits won’t have to pay the 1,440 lei fee.
The Commission also earmarked a total of 11.2 million lei in additional funding for the temporary refugee placement centers of all types.
