Denis Vieru was the only Moldovan judoka who competed in the Masters tournament of Guangzhou in China, which brings together the best 16 athletes of the world in each of the seven weight classes, IPN reports.
Vieru had bad luck in the draw and in the first round played Japan’s Joshiro Maruyama. The fight ended after 2 minus and 35 seconds in favor of Maruyama, who will meet Israel’s Baruch Shmailov in the final of the 66 kg weight class.
