Denis Takii has won a silver medal at the World Sambo Cup held in Moscow, IPN reports.

In the +100 kg weight class, he scored two victories, being defeated by Georgia’s Beka Berdzenishvili. Nine athletes competed in his weight class.

Moldova took the 13th spot in the country rankings, with Denis Takii being the only sambo player who won a medal.

Athletes from 35 countries contended at the Luzhniki Sports Complex in Moscow. Russia finished first with 19 gold medals, five silvers and two bonzes, being followed by Uzbekistan (2-6-5) and Belarus (2-5-4).
