Former fullback of Dacia Denis Ilescu played the first match after a one-year pause caused by injury. The 27-year-old player signed with Veris, for which he made his debut in the 1/8 finals of Moldova’s Cup, IPN reports.
The return was successful as Ilescu scored a goal against FC Sangerei. The match ended by 4-1.
“I’m satisfied that I played for 90 minutes after a hiatus of over a year. I thank coach Lilian Popescu, who lent me a hand in a difficult patch in my career. I hope I will meet the expectations. I still need some time to get my best form. I’m waiting for the next match with optimism and hope we will do our best this season. Denis Ilescu stated for the website of Veris.
In the quarterfinals, Veris plays Sheriff, on December 2 or 3. In the other matches, FC Costuleni meets Milsami, FC Tiraspol – Zimbru, while Dacia - Dinamo-Auto.
