The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family presented the conception of the demographic assessment project “e-Population” that enables access to the primary data sources of state institutions through an information system for processing and correlating the data, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Ministry says the project “e-Population” is designed to generate socio-demographic information. The development partners were asked to support the implementation of this project given the absence of an instrument for determining the population. When the project is finalized, this will be methodologically and financially supported by the Czech Development Agency (CzDA) with the technical assistance and expertise of the Prague University “Charles”.
The conception “e-Population” will help assess the real demographic situation and will allow permanently renewing the official demographic statistics. To ensure the protection of the personal data, the information system will store the personal data obtained from external sources on secured servers, on the mCloud hosting platform.
The Ministry of Labor considers that the improvement of the national capacities for collecting statistical data and using them when working out social policies is essential for advancing Moldova’s European course.
