A Social-Democratic platform could be soon formed in Parliament by the MPs of the Democratic Party (PDM) and the group of 14 lawmakers who left the Party of Communists, the first deputy head of the PDM Vlad Plahotniuc said after discussions with the 14 MPs, IPN reports.
“The meetings were held with the aim of identifying methods of political cooperation between the two sides, both short-term ones, by taking part in the formation of a stable majority, and short-term ones, by creating a joint political platform,” it is said in a press release of the PDM. Vlad Plahotniuc supports the idea of setting up a Social-Democratic platform in Parliament – a powerful political group with MPs who have common views and goals and who are ready to offer the new government consistent political support for doing the difficult reforms that they are to undertake.
According to him, the new government must start work by doing radical reforms since the first days of the formation, which could prevent economic and political groups from promoting their interests. The new government does not have grace and accommodation periods, while the countdown begins on the investiture day. That’s why the political stability of the future government is vital. It should be protected from political crises and supported to work in peace.
In a press release, the 14 MPs say that the Social-Democratic parliamentary platform is beginning to take shape because there are common ideas and views. The former Communists express their readiness to help overcome the profound political crisis experienced by Moldova by forming a competent government that will not be hostage to the narrow interests of party leaders.
