Mayors, district and local councilors, heads of districts and chiefs of Democratic Parties district organizations have formed the Democrat Local Elected Officials Association. Party leader, Marian Lupu claims that the new structure will strengthen the faction and will be a permanent communication and debate platform for all of the problems concerning local public administration, Info-Prim Neo reports. Marian Lupu stressed that PDM Local Elected Officials Association will boost the work communication and professional capacities of the party. "You are closer to the people, to the citizens in villages, in district centers. Creating this association is a party priority. The implementations' success depends on the well-functioning of the local public administration of the I and II level.", Marian Lupu declared. The PDM leader added that PDM Local Elected Officials Association would be a platform of communication between the central level of the party and the local elected officials community. According to him, it will not only be a formal one but a powerful and functional platform. Dumitru Diacov, PDM honorary president, has mentioned that the Democratic Party always followed the motto: "Alongside the people, together with them". In this association local elected officials will gather to discuss together citizens' problems. PDM deputy leader, Vlad Plahotniuc, has said that one of four mayors in Moldova is a Democrat and that this was the merit of the whole PDM team. "Only together we'll succeed in solving problems, finding solutions, being stronger", the First Deputy Speaker said. About 1500 delegates participated at the event.
