The Democratic Party of Moldova initiated a motion of censure at the October 17 session of Parliament. In a press conference held by the members of the PDM parliamentary group before the session, Andrian Candu said that the motion of censure regards the activity of the Sandu government in the field of social and economic protection.
"Over the course of four months of activity, the government did not care for the citizens. So far, the executive forwarded to Parliament 15 draft laws. The number of bills is a joke. Out of the 15 legislative initiatives none are aimed at the social sector, for the people, or at the economic sector, for the country”, said Andrian Candu.
The Democratic MP said that all the good initiatives of the PDM government were either suspended or canceled by the current government, which is all talk and no action and conducts anti-opposition campaigns.
Andrian Candu said that the motion of censure, signed by "most of the Democratic MP that are currently in the country", regards social protection, a sector that could find itself in an energy crisis during the next winter due to a lack of salary and pension increases. "In regard to the economic sector, we see that there was no initiative aimed at improving the business environment over the course of the four months. The Maia Sandu government did not put forward any fiscal policy initiatives. In regard to investments, have you heard of any investments over the course of the four months of the Maia Sandu government activity?”, asked Andrian Candu.
Update: The motion of censure is submitted for debate on the first plenary day of the week following the date of filing.
