The coalition between the Democratic Party and the Party of Socialists will not solve the impasse faced by Moldova at foreign level. PAS MP Lilian Carp said both the PDM and PSRM have a bad reputation in the EU institutions, IPN reports.
“Pavel Filip didn’t succeed even if he had the support of 57 MPs, had power and had Iurie Leancă who held particular keys to the Europeans chancelleries. But communication ways could not be found. We now have a government that makes very contradictory statements. It’s clear that this coalition will not have many chances of ensuring communication with the West,” Lilian Carp started in the talk show “Emphasis on Today” on TVR Moldova channel.
PPPDA MP Igor Munteanu said the PDM and PSRM will definitely come to terms as they equally need each other. Each of the parties pursues goals, but these are not related to the interests of society.
“This technocratic government does not enjoy political support. This government needs votes in Parliament to have its legislative proposals adopted. The PDM refueled its wish to come to power as it knows how it is to have power to influence economic processes and to enjoy parts of the cake that is divided when being in power,” stated the MP, noting the two parties cooperated in the past too and now Igor Dodon needs the stability that can be ensured by the PDM and PSRM, while the Democrats need a part of the power so as to start to regain full power.
Democratic MP Ion Leucă denied the assertions that the negotiations between the PDM and PSRM reached a deadlock. He noted that particular problems related to the country’s foreign policy are faced, but the two parties will definitely reach a compromise.
“The group of negotiators of the PDM does not hurry. The return to power is not the goal of the PDM’s activity. We do not hide that we want to return to power, but this will not happen at any cost,” stated Ion Leucă.
The Democratic Party and the Party of Socialists of Moldova are having discussions on the formation of a government coalition.
