Democratic MP Adrian Candu does not believe in future Leanca Government

Democratic lawmaker Adrian Candu does not believe that a new Government headed by the Liberal-Democrat Iurie Leanca will be formed. He said that the fielding of Iurie Leanca for premiership is a game of the PLDM as the Lib-Dems reached an agreement with the PCRM to cause early parliamentary elections. The statements were made after the May 15 meeting of the legal commission for appointments and immunities of which Candu forms part, IPN reports.

“I think it is rather a simulation, a game of the colleagues from the PLDM. I feel sorry for Mister Leanca as he will be sacrificed for politics,” said the lawmaker.

Adrian Candu also said that the PDM is waiting however for the invitation to talks from the Liberal-Democrats. “The anticonstitutional and anti-European laws passed in Parliament are an argument and a reason for not believing them. They endangered our coming closer to the EU,” he stated.

The PDM wants Iurie Leanca to answer such questions as: How will the coalition government fulfill its duties? How will corruption be fought, especially in the Government? What happened on May 3 and why didn’t he try to stop the multitude of legislative violations committed then?

Iurie Leanca was fielded by the PLDM for the post of Premier on May 14, while President Nicolae Timofti nominated him officially on May 15. Until May 30, Leanca must present the government program and his team to Parliament so as to ask for a vote of confidence.
