The leader of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc, who heads the PDM’s list of candidates for the national constituency, will also run in the single-member constituency Nisporeni. After submitting the consent to run in the parliamentary elections at the Palace of the Republic, the Democratic leader told the press he is sure the people will vote for the Democratic Party, IPN reports.
According to Vlad Plahotniuc, the PDM’s team managed to do good things for the people during a very short period of time. They brought things in order and ensured discipline at the state institutions and this enabled to raise salaries, pensions and allowances, to renovate schools, hospitals and kindergartens and to build roads. The people want to further enjoy stability, pay and salary raises and many other things that the PDM already did.
Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Silvia Radu, who last week announced she will not run in the elections, takes the 20th position on the PDM’s list. After submitting the consent to run in the parliamentary elections at the Palace of the Republic, she told the reporters she accepted to run on the Democratic ticket as she wants the reforms initiated by the Government to continue because they are very good. “I want the Republic of Moldova to develop as it did until now and even better and it is the case to struggle for our future and this implies participation in the political life of the country. I already said that I do not form part of the Democratic Party. The party made an offer to me and I accepted it and I will be on the party’s list. I’m not a member of the PDM, but I support the reforms that were started,” said Silvia Radu.
The PDM’s list of candidates for the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019 includes Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, party’s secretary general Constantin Botnari, Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc, ex-minister of constructions Vasile Bîtca, MP Sergiu Sîrbu, ex-minister of justice Vladimir Cebotari, MP Vladimir Andronachi, MP Dumitru Diacov.
The list also includes the wife of ex-governor of the National Bank of Moldova Otilia Drăguțanu, former minister of health Ruxanda Glavan, current Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic as well as MPs Violeta Ivanov, Angel Agache, Vladimir Vitiuc, Igor Vremea and Boris Golovin. MPs Marian Lupu and Constantin Țuțu are not on the list.
