Parliamentary elections will take place in Moldova on November 30. Some of the political parties have already started, officially or not, electoral actions, while some haven't. IPN Agency set out to sketch the “portraits” of political parties as recorded by society's perception, before the official start of the electoral campaign. We consider this to be a useful exercise for Moldovan voters, who will gain additional and concentrated information that they may find useful on the day of elections, and also for the parties themselves, who will get some hints on how to improve their image. This portrait might also help to better understand what one or another Moldovan party wants to be and what it really is. To this goal, many experts have been asked to comment on the parties' chance to make it into the next Parliament, the way they fulfilled their previous electoral promises, the possible coalitions, topics, tactics and strategies they might employ to get the voters' attention. Political parties are presented in order of the number of seats they hold in the current Legislative and of the results obtained during the previous parliamentary elections in 2010.

The Party “Democratia Acasa” (“Democracy at Home”) was founded by a group of young jurists, headed by Vasile Costiuc. It hasn’t yet taken part in elections as it was registered in 2011. Experts say this party does not have chances of entering Parliament in this autumn’s elections.
Expert Lina Grau said the party’s visibility is due to the fact that its leaders take a civic attitude towards certain events, but they can be only experts or political analysts with the same success. Lina Grau stated that she got acquainted with Vasile Costiuc in April 2009 and considers him a lucid man.
As to the recent joining of the party by Domnica Chemortan (who became known after her affair with the captain of the wrecked ship Costa Concordia, e.n.), Lina Grau said she does not understand why this woman became a member of this party. There is full disagreement between the part’s goals and the eccentric messages of this person. “Her messages are a perfect counter-propaganda for the party. Domnica Chemortan’s acts are only affecting the party’s work now,” said the expert. The party launched a fundraising campaign with the aim of de-parasitizing the political class entitled “Donate one leu for de-parasitizing the state of the discredited political class”.
Electoral strategist Olga Nicolenco said the party’s image can be assessed at 1 leu, despite its noble intentions. She considers that the party will poll 0.1% of the vote in the November 30 legislative elections.
Vice director of the Institute of Legal and Political Research of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova Victor Juc said that a number of formats were used to create this party, including with the involvement of businessman Gabriel Stati, as it was rumored. “A number of jurists founded this party. The fact that Domnica Chemortan was invited to join them is not unusual. In other states they also attract persons with visibility to parties. I think they will gain 0.1% of the vote in the parliamentary electrons,” stated the expert.
Expert Denis Cenusa believes that the party, owing to Domnica Chemortan, could get a ‘glamorous’ image, but it is a small party without history and it does not have chances of entering Parliament. They will not even come close to the election threshold.
