“Democratia Acasa” Movement: Let’s choose when to vote
The Movement “Democratia Acasa” (“Democracy at Hone”) called on all the young people in Moldova to vote on June 19 so as to elect a Democratic mayor, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“During the election campaign, we identified a number of violations of the democratic norms, but nobody was held accountable. Now they ask us why the young people did not vote. The answer should be given by the politicians, who did not manage to become pillars of society during 20 years,” the Movement’s leader Vasile Costiuc told a news conference on Wednesday.
According to Vasile Costiuc, the politicians are to blame for the fact that the young people did not cast their votes on June 5 and they should review their work as the current government came to power owing to the young persons, who are now disappointed.
Vasile Costiuc also said that four years ago, when Dorin Chirtoaca became mayor of Chisinau, he dismissed all those who were stealing and created a young team. He should now do the same, Costiuc stated.
The Movement’s members say they know how Chisinau was like before 2007, saw the potential of the young Liberal mayor and can imagine the performance of the Communist candidate. They said they want a competent and honest mayor who will really love the city and its inhabitants. Alina Stavila, activist of the Movement “Democratia Acasa”, urged the young people to choose when to vote.
Movement member Stefan Florea said that Europe is a street, while Moldova is a house that burns on this street. “There is a lot of smoke in Moldova and the fire can start again. All the democratic efforts made until now will be then in vain,” he stated.
The young man also said that until now the politicians ate sunflower seeds and focused on ‘sucking’, but should now join efforts and put out that moldering fire. However, Stefan Florea called on the voters to take part in the elections so that they are later able to ask for explanations from the politicians.
The Movement “Democratia Acasa” aims to gradually replace the political elite and completely reform the state functioning system.
