Democracy will only benefit from merger between MAE and PL, Veaceslav Untila

“Democracy in Moldova will only benefit from this merger. The Liberal Party will consolidate its position on the political right and will strengthen its team with new professionals who are catalysts for democratic progress in the country,” the chairman of the European Action Movement (MAE) Veaceslav Untila said in the February 26 meeting of the party’s National Council.
According to Veaceslav Untila, though there were divergent opinions, the MAE’s National Council unanimously supported the merger with the PL and decided that the fusion process will finalize on March 13. The merger agreement will be signed next week.
“The members of the local organizations need that the democratic forces be consolidated. We must be united and take decisions that will meet the ordinary people’s needs. We are to prepare for the local elections that will definitely be a serious exam for democracy in Moldova. I’m sure that the Liberal Party, in its new composition, will pass it successfully,” said the deputy head of Cantemir district Ion Hancu.
The MAE’s National Council on February 26 discussed details concerning the merger with the Liberal Party.
