Delivering reforms is a challenge for Moldova, EU official

By implementing the Association Agreement and the reforms, Moldova will transform itself economically, socially and politically, to the benefit of the Moldovan citizens. The real challenge is now to move towards the delivering of reforms, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said at the press conference following the EU-Moldova Association Council meeting held in Brussels on March 14, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the EU Neighborhood Info Center.

“We have agreed today that we will continue to support the Republic of Moldova with the implementation of the reform program it has committed to in the framework of the Association Agreement, including its DCFTA, on which we share the way to see concrete actions and results. I think this is the main political outcome of our meeting, a common assessment and a common will to move to the delivery part of our common work,” said the EU High Representative.

Referring to the talk that the EU held with Moldova regarding the need to de-politicize the state institutions, fight systemic corruption, investigate banking frauds and reform the country’s justice and banking sectors, Mogherini added that the interests of the Moldovan citizens remain a priority for the EU.
