Delegation of pilgrims goes to Jerusalem to bring Holy Light to Moldova

The Holy Light from the Holy Sepulcher will be brought to Moldova on Saturday, April 15, by Bishop Ioan of Soroca, vicar of the Moldovan Orthodox Church, approximately around 8:00 p.m., in the square of the Nativity Metropolitan Cathedral in Chisinau, where from Metropolitan Vladimir will share the Holy Light with the clergy and believers alike.

Bishop Ioan al Soroca told IPN that a delegation of 60 people is leaving for Jerusalem, with a chartered flight, with each member of the pilgrim group covering the cost of the trip.

“This year our delegation will leave for the holy land in the morning of April 11. We will have the blessed opportunity for four days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, to visit the most important places of Christendom in the world, such as the holy city of Jerusalem and other holy places in its surroundings. Afterwards, our group of pilgrims will make their way back to the country, so that the Holy Light will reach the metropolitan cathedral, and the believers in our country will have the opportunity to take this holiness and take it to the churches and localities in the country”, said Bishop Ioan.

This year, Orthodox Easter is celebrated on April 16.
