A delegation of Moldova’s Parliament is taking part in the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) that is held in Strasbourg on January 25-29. The session includes debates on the phenomenon of migration in Europe and the refugee crisis, fighting of international terrorism and women’s protection, IPN reports.
The agenda of the winter session also includes discussions about the reports on the escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and other regions occupied by Azerbaijan, the foreign fighters in Syria and Iraq, the situation in Kosovo and the Council of Europe’s role. The PACE is to adopt a series of recommendations and resolutions on such subjects as the children’s access to education and judicial corruption.
Moldova’s delegation is led by Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovich and includes MPs Valentina Buliga, Valeriu Giletski and Andrei Neguta. Valeriu Giletski will act as rapporteur on the request of the Parliament of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to be granted the partner for democracy status.
