Delegation goes to Russia to agree quality parameters of exported wine

A delegation of Moldovan officials will go to Moscow to agree the physicochemical quality parameters with experts of Russia’s consumer rights watchdog “Rospotrebnadzor” so as to resume the exports of Moldovan wine and brandy to Russia. The sides are to negotiate and sign a memorandum that will specify all the conditions, IPN reports.

The delegation will include specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and the National Food Safety Agency. Minister of Agriculture Vasile Bumacov said he already sent to Moscow a letter with the subjects that are to be discussed. “We must definitely set the technical parameters. If such problems appear again, we suit be able to deal with them in a civilized way,” the minister said in the hearings held by the parliamentary commission on agriculture. “We have a clear agenda and the problem will be soon solved.”

The minister assured that a halt in the export of fruit and vegetables is not possible as all the conditions are met.

Vasile Bumacov was questioned by the parliamentary commission on agriculture and food industry about the situation in the agrifood sector, including about the export of wine products.
