The Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with the OSCE Mission to Moldova, is holding a course on the transportation of dangerous goods and munitions in conditions of safety on October 5-16, IPN reports, quoting a communique of the Ministry.
According to the head of the armament and military equipment section of the Logistics Department, lieutenant-colonel Andrei Camerzan, the program, which involves 16 military officers and sub-officers, centers on procedures and techniques for transporting dangerous loads, in accordance with the European legislation.
Andrei Camerzan said the participants are also familiarized with the existent munitions manipulation risks, the national and international framework on the safe transportation of dangerous explosive good and the structure and deciphering of labels put on the transported dangerous goods.
The course on transportation of dangerous goods and munitions in conditions of safety forms part of a training project centering on the management of armament and munitions stores implemented based on the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Defense and the OSCE concerning the carrying out of the Complex Program on Small Arms, Light Weapons and Conventional Weapons in Moldova, which was signed on October 28, 2010.
