Deeptech GigaHack hackathon held for first time in Chisinau

The Deeptech GigaHack hackathon is held for the first time in Chisinau. The event brought together information technology professionals, entrepreneurs and researchers from Moldova and Romania. For two days, the participants, who formed 40 teams, will compete in identifying innovative solutions for the sectors of cyber security, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and machine learning.

Attending the launch ceremony, Prime Minister Dorin Recean emphasized that the hackathon offers the opportunity to generate innovations that improve the quality of life and promote the economic development of the country. According to the prime minister, young people today have access to all the necessary tools and information and have a number of opportunities to produce. In the near future, the Government intends to cooperate more closely with entrepreneurs and innovators in order to identify new solutions for existing problems, including in creative industries, the Government said in a press release.

DeepTech GigaHack is organized by Technovator and Digital Park, under the auspices of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, with the support of the Future Technologies Project, funded by USAID, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF).
