President Igor Dodon has signed a decree whereby he ordered to mobilize the whole personnel of the National Army to deal with the consequences of the blizzard. He also called on the citizens to facilitate the work of cleanup services, IPN reports.

The President said the functioning capacities of all the institutions and the consequences of the tempest for the national economy are being urgently assessed.

Prime Minister Pavel Filip, after the meeting of the Commission for Emergencies, said a state of emergency wasn’t declared, but, together with the Head of State, they agreed to mobilize the armed forces to help with snow removal. Where ambulances cannot pass because of snowdrifts, special vehicles of the National Army will be send to tow these away.
