To be included in the voter roll of a particular area of residence, eligible voters who changed their residence after the latest elections must announce their new address at the local administration bodies via a declaration of residence until June 26, inclusive, Info-Prim Neo learned from the PR department of the Chisinau City Hall.
A declaration of residence within the municipality of Chisinau may be submitted at the district offices or at the suburban mayor's offices. For this purpose these institutions will work longer hours this week.
At the same time, a verification of voters lists is underway in the municipality.
UNDP Moldova will assist the Central Election Commission through a EU-funded project aiming at developing democracy by strengthening electoral processes in the 2009-2013 electoral rounds, with an immediate focus on the 2009 parliamentary elections.
For the July 29 polls, UNDP is assisting the CEC with devising and organizing civic education campaigns, including for the Moldovan citizens abroad, with creating a media center and a system of data management that will allow a real-time display of the results on election day, and with training the electoral staff.
